Things To Do in Long Beach & Los Angeles

Last, but certainly not least, our final SoFabUOTR conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency located in Long Beach, California, which is approximately one hour away from Los Angeles (without traffic). This luxurious downtown hotel that we have chosen will not disappoint! If you are uncertain whether or not to attend, this is a conference you do not want to miss!

Most people know that there are an overwhelming amount of activities to partake in while visiting Los Angeles and the surrounding areas, so we wanted to simplify the search for you!

Family Activities

If you are bringing the whole family along, then you are probably curious about entertainment and exactly how far away this said entertainment actually is! We have provided links directly to Universal StudiosDisneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm, which are all excellent amusement park destinations to keep the whole family happy!

Universal Studios is located in Hollywood, which is approximately two hours away if you take the Metro Blue Line train. Disneyland is located in Anaheim, California which is a thirty-minute cab ride without traffic, but you could expect up to a two-hour commute if traffic is heavy. Knott’s Berry Farm is located in Buena Park, California and is a thirty-minute cab ride without traffic. Be sure to check traffic reports on the news at your hotel or at home or use Google Maps to see what a realistic arrival time would be based on that particular day.

Aquarium of the Pacific is a world-class aquarium located in Long Beach, which is only a nine minute walk from the Hyatt. It features 19 major exhibits and 32 focus exhibits with over 11,000 ocean animals. It is the perfect destination for your little ones to enjoy all the beautiful sea creatures.

The Queen Mary is also a unique entertainment option that is a complimentary activity if you are also interested in the Aquarium of the Pacific. It is a ship tour that is full of rich history of the Queen Mary. You can purchase “passports” online and even buy a combination ticket if you are also planning on visiting the aquarium.

Shopping and Dining

Hollywood Walk of Fame is a wonderful choice if you are interested in the history of Hollywood’s stars. There are guided tours from various companies that walk you through, or you can self-pace your activities. If you take the Metro Blue Line from Downtown Long Beach (ten minutes away from the Hyatt), it is an hour and a half train ride.

While you are out exploring the Walk of Fame, you should also stop by the iconic Hollywood and Highland Center which hosts four stories of world class shopping, dining, and entertainment such as the Dolby Theatre (home to the Academy Awards®) and the TCL Chinese Theater (world famous movie palace) that is a must for your Hollywood visit. There is also two dollar parking available as well, if you happen to drive, which we think is pretty amazing!
