I cannot begin to express to you how excited I am about attending SoFabU OTR in New York City this June! The Miami event was such a blast, I can’t wait to connect face-to-face with some of my favorite northeastern bloggers and Collective Bias employees. But the big question is… what should I wear? My childhood best friend lives in New York, so I asked her for some fashion advice. This NYC event includes a walking photography tour, so I knew comfort would be a priority when planning clothing for the day. Attendees will likely be taking public transportation to get around, so I would definitely recommend wearing a comfortable pair of flats. Here are two looks that will hopefully inspire your wardrobe at SoFabU OTR in NYC!
It’s summertime, which means the perfect opportunity to wear beautiful floral dresses. This dress pairs well with striped, canvas flats and a set of gold bangle bracelets for a little extra flare. Because bloggers tend to carry a lot of technology-related items (e.g. laptop, tablet, smartphone, and/or camera), we need a large bag to store everything. This brown leather messenger bag can comfortably hold all our belongings for the day-long conference. I suggest choosing a bag that can be worn either over one shoulder or across the chest for a variety of options.
My best friend reminded me of the awful weather northerners experienced this past winter, and she said everyone is thrilled to be able to wear beautiful summer clothing. Horizontal stripes are definitely trendy this season, so why not wear a beautiful striped dress to the event? This particular dress is both casual and stylish. Yellow gold is trendy, so pair it with a pendant that makes a statement and a fun ring. Similar to the first look, I included a large bag that should fit all the basics a blogger would carry while visiting NYC in style!
If you’re not into wearing dresses, pair a similar pattern (either floral or strip) with a nice pair of shorts or even leggings for a trendy look. Try gold sandals to complete the look. Remember, we will be indoors part of the day, outdoors part of the day, and the event will last from morning through evening. Select an outfit that looks professional, can transition throughout each activity, that will allow you to move around easily, and that feels comfortable for this day-long event.
